TDC70 winners announced: New York Times Magazine Comes on Top with 5 Wins
The Type Directors Club, the world’s leading typography organization, announced the winners from 41 countries in its prestigious TDC70 Competition. The winners have been selected based on their exceptional accomplishments in three fields: Type Design, Lettering, and Communication Design.
The New York Times Magazine is in the lead with an astounding five TDC70 Certificates of Typographic Excellence. From "The Halloween Issue" and "The New York Times for Kids Covers" to "The Hip Hop Issue" and "The Lives They Lived", their editorial layouts and unique design have stolen the spotlight once again.
Apple Design Team, büro uebele visuelle kommunikation, Foreign Policy Design Group, G Design Studio, Landor, Milk Network and Pentagram followed with three TDC70 Certificates apiece. All of these winners have been breaking barriers and creating exciting projects in diverse fields, such as Motion, Environmental Design, and Type Design.
All TDC70 winning work will be featured in the highly respected TDC Annual, The World’s Best Typography®, and showcased in eight exhibitions that travel to museums, schools and design organizations around the world. TDC70 winners are also part of The One Club’s prestigious Global Creative Rankings, earning points alongside winners in The One Show, ADC Annual Awards, ONE Asia, and Art Directors Club of Europe competitions to chart the world’s leading independent creatives, ad agencies, production companies, and brands.
Don’t forget that on May 14 during the Creative Week in New York, the Best of Discipline and Judges' Choice awards as well as winners exhibition will also be conducted. Creative Week (May 13-17, 2024) is a premier annual gathering for the advertising and design industries to come together and celebrate the creative excellence showcased in four of the club’s leading global awards shows, and discuss the latest creative trends and issues.
