  • Kevin Magalhaes explores fashion as a narrative in stunning printed form

In the 1990s, a radical change took place in the way of dressing. Fashion is crossed by the historical breaks of the time and a destructured style appears in some creators, offering an alternative to the functional or narcissistic consumption of clothes. Kevin Magalhaes associates this tendency to the notion of cynicism, which is perceived negatively and even morally condemned as the product of a Saturnian psychology, and even more the disease of a world that has ceased to believe. Cynicism is precisely trendy, in fashion. It would be in the air. It would even be the air we breathe. Yet, for Kevin, cynicism has something good; In its lucidity, it allows to go against the current. In this he participates in contemporary fashions, including dress. How does an outfit put a message through its supposedly negative presentation? The challenge for the creators is to show that fashion exceeds the clothing. That it is a vehicle of ideas and representations of society. And, beyond doubtless, a means of communication between men. A possible narrative that is the very condition of an artistic overcoming of cynicism.

  • Conversas Rotterdam Publication by N/A Studio is an ode to slab

"Conversas Rotterdam is a series of weekly informal meetings made so that we can get to know and discuss projects and interest. "  N/A Studio were invited to design the publication of the #71 - #80 series.  During the event, three Conversadores (those who talk at Conversas) bring something to share with the gathered group, for thirty minutes each. As the title suggests itself, Conversas (Conversations in Portuguese) aim at an equal set up from which both the Conversadores and the group should be able to profit. Events are open to all and the entrance is free.

N/A Studio is a collective of two full-time graphic designers and part-time surfers from Portugal. They specialize in developing unique branding systems, editorial pages, and website designs.

  • Jackson Green raves 90s style with his new project Real Bass Vol. 01

"Real Bass Vol. 1: Welcome to tha Jungle" was a self-driven multimedia project inspired by the aesthetics of early 90s raves. It consists of a poster, a cassette with an hour-long mix on it, a longsleeve shirt, a zine, and several short promotional videos. The mix can be heard and purchased at www.yrface.bandcamp.com

Yr Face represents the creative output of Jackson D. Green, a New York based designer working on his BFA in Packaging Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. The work is predicated on radical experimentation and a reverent disregard for existing design.
